Basecamp Research is a preclinical biotechnology company building foundation models trained on evolutionary genomic data to design new medicines.
Basecamp trains its EDEN foundation models on BaseData, a proprietary genomic dataset of more than one million newly discovered species collected over five years across 28 countries and reported to be more than 10 times larger than all public genomic databases combined. Founded by Glen Gowers and Oliver Vince, the company's aiPGI platform has demonstrated gene-insertion activity at disease-relevant genomic sites and antimicrobial peptide activity against WHO priority pathogens, in partnership with NVIDIA and Anthropic. Basecamp is advancing a wholly owned pipeline of cell and gene therapies for rare disease toward its first development candidates.
